OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The post holder will be employed in the capacity of Petrophysicist at the Fugro Robertson office based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. The purpose of the role is as follows:
KEY TASKS:
• Perform petrophysical formation evaluations for single and multiple well log suites using Geolog or similar petrophysical software packages.
• Work within integrated reservoir studies and field development teams to integrate formation evaluation results with geological and geophysical reservoir characterisation, ultimately leading to static reservoir and simulation models.
• Provide petrophysical evaluation of rock physics for the geophysical team for seismic inversion, AVO modelling etc.
• As part of asset evaluations, review within a short time frame petrophysical evaluations performed by other petrophysicists (oil company or consultants).
• The role will involve independent wireline log evaluation for single-well studies and asset valuations, as well as multi-well petrophysical evaluations as part of integrated field development studies.

• To attend Training and Development courses/workshops as deemed necessary.
• To support and undertake such other functions and responsibilities as are required from time to time and where it is deemed relevant and advantageous to the operations.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
• BSc Degree in Geology, Physics or Petroleum Engineering
• MSc Degree in Geology, Physics or Petroleum Engineering
• PhD Degree in Geology, Physics or Petroleum Engineering
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Understanding of different cultures around the world
• Experience of in-depth, independent petrophysical evaluations of a wide range of reservoirs
• Familiarity with petrophysical evaluation software such as Geolog, Powerlog or equivalent packages
• Proven technical skills and a high degree of IT literacy will be required
• Fluency in English in both oral and written form is essential for effective communication with clients, for presentations and reports
