Lab Technician/Analyst

Buzzi Unicem USA, a major US cement manufacturer, is seeking a  Lab Technician/Analyst for its Stockertown, PA plant. The Lab Technician/Analyst will be responsible for controlling the quality parameters of the raw feed  and cement as manufactured. 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze samples of rock, clinker, and cement.
• Prepare analysis and reports in a timely manner.
• Record data electronically and in hand written formats.
• Ability to make decisions for control and report quality issues to minimize and/or eliminate potential quality problems.
• Understands and applies ASTM, AASHTO and Plant Quality Standards Manuals.
• Promotes and enforces safe work practices and good housekeeping.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some technical school or college courses in chemistry a plus.
• 1 to 3 years lab experience in a manufacturing environment, or 1 to 3 years working in a cement plant.
• Cement chemistry and process knowledge preferred.
• Ability to operate analytical equipment such as an XRF analyzer, Perl-x calorimeter, lab crusher, and pulverizer a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Good communication and language skills.
• Strong organization and decision-making abilities.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
