Production Manager

• [Company] a major US cement manufacturer is seeking a Production
• Manager in our Stockertown, PA plant. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing employees and overseeing plant operations.

The Production Manager will report directly into the Plant Manager and will be responsible for:

• Directing the continuous operation of the facility.
• Adhering to production schedules, budgets, quality requirements and providing a safe working environment. 
• Directing the activities of the manufacturing departments to effect maximum production within the limits of established quality and cost standards.
• Issuing instructions/directions to shift foreman covering performance, manpower requirements, scheduling and quality standards. 
• Ensuring the efficient utilization of equipment and facilities. 
• Maintaining current knowledge of collective bargaining agreement and related plant policies. 
• Seeking opportunities to promote and instill an attitude of cost and profit consciousness among all employees.
• Being an advocate of the Company and Plant’s Safety Programs and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Compiling the annual budget for the operation department.  Monitoring expenditures against approved budget plans. 

Production Manger job requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years’ work experience in an industrial environment. 
• Cement process knowledge preferred.
• Proficiencies in chemistry and plant operations. 
• Candidate should have a strong technical background with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Physical dexterity to navigate through and around various job conditions, including climbing, walking on less than optimal surfaces, etc.
• Ability to tolerate noise, dust, and dirty conditions, and the ability to lift up to
• 50 lbs.
