Job Description
- [Company] Talent Development function plays a vital role in the development and retention of the company’s employees. We work closely with the senior management team to ensure we continuously identify and develop the leadership talent required to sustain and grow our business.
- The Director, Talent Development will primarily support programs and processes which achieve our executive and leadership development and succession management strategies. The successful candidate will possess a unique combination of analytical, interpersonal, facilitative, consultative, influence and strategic thinking skills, business acumen, and a strong background in leadership development, assessment, adult learning, succession management, and career development.
Responsibilities of this key staff position will include:
- Facilitate the design, development and implementation of a technology supported succession room
- Interface with senior management to support the development of a learning culture at all levels of the organization; design breakthrough strategies and initiatives to support a learning culture.
- Participate and partner with the communications department in the design, development and implementation of communication training company wide using various methods, including webcasts.
- Collaborate with [Company] University to market [Company] University and support the sales organization, including the development of the [Company] Learning Network
- Create studies, analyses and reports to support the future direction of talent development
- Collaborate with Management and Leadership Dean and support efforts to offer innovative initiatives supporting manager training and development.
- Support the design and development of comprehensive on-boarding process for new executives and managers
- Facilitate the transfer of corporate based initiatives to regions throughout [Company] where they can be locally enhanced, owned and implemented
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 15 - 20 years’ experience in the learning & development function for a large, multi-national, publicly held corporation. Extensive experience in the design, development and implementation of breakthrough learning strategies. Proven success in original development of global reaching programs. Experience should include executive and leadership development, training program design and delivery, succession planning, and change management implementations. Proven ability to design and deliver programs that support culture change and those that connect new technologies with learning.
Other Job Requirements
- Previous experience in gathering and analyzing data for information needed to help drive succession management and leadership development initiatives. Ability to connect new technologies to support succession and other strategic initiatives
- Expert proficiency in instructional system design and skill in developing others in high impact design, development and implementation of leadership development programs.
- Highly skilled in technologies to support design and development including, PowerPoint, In-Design and other desktop applications.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in leadership/executive development, organization development, adult learning, and program design.
- Previous success with building a learning culture within a large multi-national corporation
- Ability to quickly establish trust and credibility in working with employees at all levels.
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
- High level of business acumen. Understands how the L&D function drives shareholder value and how this can be measured in this industry
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive in pursuit of goals and objectives.
- High level of innovation skills relating to talent development
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Business (w/Organization Behavior Management emphasis), IO psychology, Education, or Human Resources desired.
