The role
Currently looking for a Mechanical Assembly / Test Engineer due to recent and projected growth within our mechanism development / assembly / support team.
As a Mechanical Assembly / Test Engineer your main duties will involve:
• Working within a small team to assemble and test space mechanism sub-assemblies and to support focused research and development activities.
• The scope of this role includes:
- Test rig design, assembly & commissioning
- Thermal vacuum testing of mechanism sand sub-assemblies
- Results analysis and reporting
- Assembly and test including bearing systems, prototypes and up to space-flight standard hardware to the highest precision and quality.
• Supporting design and development of test facilities and spacecraft hardware as appropriate (in the role of project engineer/project manager)
As a Mechanical Assembly / Test Engineer you will have experience:
• Evidence of working on high precision or intricate assemblies ie: work on Mass spectrometers, gyroscopes, bearing systems etc
• Background in Mechanical field, Aerospace, Space, military, Aircraft, Test Rigs, Defence sector environment.
• Mechanical Fitters, Assembly Engineers, Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Integration Engineers from a Mechanical environment would all be considered.
• Understanding of operation of vacuum systems would be an advantage but not essential.
