Management Associate - Business Planning
Job Description
- [Company] has an immediate opening for a Management Associate in the Business Planning organization at our Mon Valley Works facility located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
- The Management Associate position is an entry-level position within United States Steel Corporation that prepares the college graduate for supervisory responsibilities at its various operating facilities. Management Associates are provided 6 -12 months of training in conjunction with work assignments to assist in this development.
The Management Associate-Business Planning will receive training and assignments in the following areas:
- Administers the [Company] safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the operating facility;
- Gains an understanding of the steelmaking process from start to finish;
- Schedules and manages production orders for the production of the material through operating facilities from order entry through shipment;
- Provides customer service by providing real-time production information to its various internal customers;
- Participates in the development of business plans, short-range plans and weekly plans to manage inventories and operating constraints to maximize throughput and optimize production and profitability;
- Works with the Business Planning groups at other U.S. Steel plants, as necessary, to develop interworks, transportation and production plans; and
- Works with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) group as necessary to help roll out elements of the new Oracle e-Business Suite order entry and inventory system.
Job Requirements:
- Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, and 365 days/year. Therefore, the ability and willingness to work extended hours, as well as weekend and/or holiday work is required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, industrial engineering, supply chain management or a closely related field
- Communication, teamwork, organizational, leadership, problem solving and planning skills
