Sweeper Driver

Job Description

• Operate sweeper truck to clean streets worksites or facilities of  various types of spills
• Candidate will clean plant area by shoveling spilled material removing debris etc.; washing concrete pads; sweeping control houses, etc.
• Follows established traffic patterns avoiding tire hazards and other hazardous conditions.
• Communicates with Manager and or Dispatcher to receive instructions
• Keeps equipment clean (inside and out) to company standards: Follows all DOT rules requirements:
• Performs pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and completes daily equipment reports; reports unsafe mechanical conditions to shop foreman and supervisor
• Maintains good housekeeping practices on equipment.
• Complies with all environmental, health, safety requirements:
• Must be willing to work a rotating schedule with varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor
• Candidates must maintain a valid Class “A” or Class “B” commercial driver’s license
• Excellent defensive driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and  public relations in performance of duties is required
• Driving record must not contain convictions of any of the disqualifying offenses as set forth in 383.51 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations within the previous 7 years (reckless driving, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, CMV Felony, etc.)

Required Skills

• Candidate will be responsible to operate sweeper truck for aggregate and concrete operations to clean plant yards and driveways at various locations.  Candidate will be expected to operate equipment with a high degree of competence, perform duties safely, responsibly and proficiently observing all safety and health rules.
