Global OEM Business Development Manager
Position Summary:
- Directs and generates business opportunities globally across international operating units. Overall responsibility for global business development with high emphasis on profitable growth with global OEM's and to increase market share within regional markets. Develops global marketing, supply chain and manufacturing strategies and along with regional operational teams executed at the local level. Works with regional marketing leaders to develop strategic and tactical plans to obtain short and long-term objectives. Coordinates division and customer support activities to ensure maximum aftermarket penetration and profitability.
- The Global Business Development Manager will focus on existing global OEM's and potential new business and technologies that will assist the division in meeting and exceeding the divisional growth objectives set forth by the global growth strategy. The position will report directly to the VP RAC Business with strong collaboration with international management as appropriate.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing global customer accounts, relationships, and agreements on a global all- Parker basis.
- Drives a culture of accountability through strategy deployment and effective performance management for the division. Actively promotes excellent communication and cooperative work efforts with international counterparts to develop global products.
- Works with the Division to develop and implement a global manufacturing strategy with emphasis on cost and the ability to serve Global OEM's and penetrate regional market.
- Builds and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by directing the necessary Parker resources to meet customer needs and solutions on a global basis.
- Identifies opportunities for business development by studying competitors’ products, problems, market intelligence, and identifying trends. Develops competitive global attack strategy.
- Manage all ongoing customer issues, Commercial issues, Platform engineering issues, and communication issues.
Formulate and develop comprehensive business plan for each account to address:
- Sales growth activities
- Technology
- Market information
- Competitive information
- Pricing strategies
- Global consolidated Gross Margin Strategy
- Market trends
- Production needs
- Provides indirect leadership to local sales team to support growth of accounts.
- Develops and executes strategic growth plans.
- Builds strong relationships with Global OEM Leaders/Senior Leaders.
- Develops, manages and supports business development plans for international programs in order to penetrate global market.
- Develops and maintains relationships with all global OEMs to gain knowledge of future market and customer unmet needs and further develop growth opportunities.
- Creates Technology Roadmaps.
- Conducts competitive research and formulates goals and milestones. Coordinates global OEM next generation platform design. Applies thorough understanding of the division’s technical capabilities, operational capacity, market information, and incorporate them into Winovation and Winmap.
- Establishes goals and objectives to carry out programs or functions by coordinating all global efforts across regions.
- Leverage supply base and geographic product certification requirements.
- Identifies local and global acquisition that fit the division's product portfolio.
- Leads engineering and new global product development to meet future OEM needs. Focuses on global innovative product development.
- Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, mentioning, training, talent management and individual training. Standardizes engineering practices and designs, reduces product development cost.
- Serves as technical subject expert and resource. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on local and international standards development committees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (BA) in Marketing, Engineering, or related field. MBA desired.
- A minimum of five years of business unit management experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of increasingly responsible industry experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles, industry regulatory agencies, competitive products and supply base related to key strategic industries.
- Knowledge of program management and business processes and procedures, including technical and business proposal development.
- Strong P & L understanding.
- Knowledge of domestic and international customer pricing and acquisition processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of competitors’ products, marketing efforts and political interests. Knowledge of other companies’ products and capabilities for potential teaming and alliances.
- Demonstrated ability to establish new value stream and financial models.
- Knowledge of related U.S. and international rules and regulations.
- Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Product design experience highly desired.
- Ability to use standard business applications software. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management and customers. Ability to translate customer unmet needs into business development strategies and develop solutions to customer problems.
- Proven ability to establish and lead high performance teams.
- Ability to demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
