Customer Value Representative- Water
Position Summary:
- The CVR Water for the EUS Aggregate BU is an execution-oriented position with the primary goal of ensuring we maximize customer requirements while optimizing inventory at our quarries and minimizing the distribution cost to [Company], achieved by dispatching of the various fleets under contract while maintaining the contractual haulers obligations without sacrificing service. This includes updating Master Vessel with the relevant information and constant communication with Marine vessel haulers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Drive and personally promote the Core value of Zero Accidents and Incidents to all operations in the Great Lakes Market Area. Actively engage with the haulers and quarries to reinforce safe behaviors.
- Operations Management: Drive for operating excellence at all locations in the Great Lakes Market Area by assistance in improvement of vessels utilization.
- Inventory Management: Identify opportunities across the docks and quarries to keep inventories at safe levels to avoid “stock outs” while not overfilling their capacity.
- Strategy: Assist in the formulation of logistics strategies, especially the determination of core carriers, contract fulfillment and documentation compliance.
- Logistics: The CVR Water person will be responsible for the following:
- Create a boat schedule for the year following the Sales Forecast
- Keep in contact with customers to confirm their needs for a 6 week rolling average – complete with product requirements and delivery dates
- Keep in contact with the Vessel Companies
- Secure boats required to meet customer needs
- Publish a 10 day rolling average schedule with boats named
- Maintain Shipping schedule published to a database located in Lotus Notes
- Review Bill of Lading information to ensure accuracy
- Update Master Vessel to reflect current shipping expectation
- Identifying logistics optimization opportunities (backhauls)
- Monitor and track hauler performance and KPI’s
- System & Process: The CVR Water person will be responsible for the following:
- Understand Lighthouse as far as boat scheduling goes
- Expert with Master Vessel and pivot tables in Excel
- Assistance in completion of hauler KPI’s
Specific Accountabilities:
- Maintain accuracy of Master Vessel
- Maintain and publish daily boat schedule to reflect changes due to any circumstance
- Hauler performance tracking and KPI’s
- Maintain good working relationships with Haulers and Customers
Relationships with Others Jobs:
- The CVR Water person works closely with CVC Manager, Quarry personnel, boat dispatchers, Territory and Plant Managers, Operations Manager and After-Sales Support.
Qualification Profile:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or
- A minimum 10 years of experience in related industry
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong customer focus

- Deep knowledge of water mode of transportation and working knowledge of other modes of transportation
- Excellent people skills – able to develop effective working relationships internally and externally
