Environmental Health & Safety Leader

Role Summary/Purpose:

  • The Environmental Health & Safety Leader will drive overall Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) awareness, ensure compliance to regulatory requirements, maintain and track internal metrics associating all safety programs, participation and compliance, drive awareness and actions that lead environmental and industrial hygiene initiatives in support of business wide injury reductions, and assist in new employee onboarding and strategies associated with a plant start-up.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program and initiates and influences integration of EHS policies and practices into the business
  • Manage activities, which drive compliance with EHS regulation and company policies
  • Be responsible for managing the reduction of Injury & Illness (I&I) rates and all safety metrics associating EHS awareness and compliance
  • Manage compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure effective education programs are in place
  • Interface professionally with company associates, customers, government officials and the public in all areas of environment, health and safety
  • Analyze data to assess environment, health and safety challenges, and to develop approaches to control
  • Audit manufacturing facility and offices for compliance to all internal and external requirements for continuous improvement efforts
  • Drive awareness and actions that lead environmental and industrial hygiene initiatives in support of business wide injury reductions and control of associating costs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local team, community, and regulators
  • Demonstrate due diligence and perform risk evaluations, safety procedure & Program development / mentoring, training and ensure emergency preparedness
  • Be responsible for Incident investigation, corrective action implementation, contractor / vendor EHS evaluation and approval
  • Lead and manage diverse teams of hourly and management employees integrating safety into all aspects of managing the business

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS position and / or supervisor within a manufacturing environment

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
