Senior Mines and Metals Engineer

Our client is an independent engineering consulting firm that operates internationally. They are home to highly-qualified engineering experts in several disciplines electrical, civil, mechanical, industrial data processing, mining, metallurgical processes, automation, and construction management. They have particular focus in the Mines and Metals industry and related Power industries. They believe in transforming complex problems into practical, innovative, leading-edge and sustainable solutions. They rely on their dedicated and talented team who are eager to take on new high-technical challenges and complete their assignments with determination and enthusiasm.

The Senior Mines and Metals Engineer will play a key role in building the client’s business in the Ontario market. They bring with them ten to fifteen years of technical experience and know how to share that experience with peers and clients. The person will have significant energy and entrepreneurial drive. They will have the ability to build a team – to teach and coach, with a desire to be the best inspire others to be the best. The Senior Mines and Metals Engineer will understand the full project cycle and be instrumental in the development of client projects. They will be well networked with in their industry and be able to attract clients and people resources to the company within that sphere. Backgrounds could be from the Mining or Process industries.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate is recognized as an expert in the mining/metallurgy industry especially in the Ontario Canadian market.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering;
  • Experience in operations and plant design. Understands operating and maintenance requirements for designing plants
  • Preference will be given to candidates with base metal or gold processing backgrounds;
  • Understands the various type of equipment technology in mineral processing, with their pros and cons and the limit for their application;
  • Experience in consulting is an asset;
  • Strong track record of successfully completed projects in the mining industry.
  • Detailed design experience is considered a major asset;
  • Professional engineer or ability to register as a professional engineer
