Director of Production/Operations

Our client is continuing to pursue excellence in their manufacturing practices and requires a Director of Production/Operations to acts as a leader and resource to provide the support to the production supervisors and production teams at their facility in Eastern Ontario.

  • The Director of Operations will support operations in order to produce quality construction materials and meet customer expectations in an efficient, timely and profitable manner.
  • Manage and provide leadership to Production Supervisors
  • Work closely with and support the Production Supervisors with budget preparation.
  • Work closely with the Lead Production Engineer to ensure daily production targets can be achieved.
  • Update procedures as required.
  • Coordinate production personnel career development and training.
  • Monitor and assist in developing Key Performance Indicators for the production team
  • Root cause Analysis
  • Improve efficiency of Production
  • Ensure complete documentation and reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Engineering Degree or related Diploma
  • Four or more years leadership experience within a mining or construction materials processing environment preferably in a Unionized setting
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Thorough understanding of all production equipment and systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of processes
  • Extremely organized; ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Works well under pressure and within time constraints
  • Experience maintaining tight safety regulations and accident prevention
