ArcticSands Thermal Industries is a Calgary based Engineering Company that provides electrical engineering, design and drafting solutions for power generation and thermal heating applications in the oil & gas, pipeline and mining industries.

Our Power generation group provides complete engineered solutions for emergency, standby, temporary and prime power applications while our thermal heating group provides engineering, design and drafting services for electrical heating and electrical heat tracing applications.

We are focused and dedicated to providing high quality and cost effective engineered packages and our team are experts at providing our clients with the most safe, reliable, and cost effective power generation and thermal heating solutions possible.

Overview

We are excited to have a position for a Junior/Intermediate Electrical Drafter to complete drafting activities for our power generator and thermal heating projects.
We are looking for a motivated and high-energy individual to join our team.

Responsibilities

Complete drafting activities for the following:

Electrical load lists, single-line diagrams and switchgear/motor control schematics
Electrical cable schedules, junction boxes, wiring schematics, panel schedules and control panels
2D plan-view electrical, grounding, and instrumentation layout drawings
3D modelling of MCC/generator buildings, transformers, cable tray, junction boxes, and control panels
Electrical heat trace isometric drawings
Coordinate with other discipline teams to resolve design issues
Preparation of Issued for Construction drawings and Construction Work Packages

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of relevant Canadian drafting experience
Experience using AutoCAD and 3D modelling (Autoplant, CADWorx and Navisworks experience beneficial)
Knowledge of industry drafting standards and best drafting practices
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Ability to work independently, a willingness to meet project deadlines and the ability to function in mutliple cross-functional project teams
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and the drive to design in addition to drafting
