Associate Director

My client looking to recruit an Associate Director to manage the technical delivery of the Mining and Metals team in Africa and Globally.
  • The successful candidate will generate new business and develop client relationships.
  • Commercially manage the delivery of a variety of commissions in accordance with Business Management Systems 
  • Performing the role of the Commission Manager, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex commissions
  • Act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value added cost management service

Key Accountabilities:

Commission Management to include:

  • Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
  • Managing and taking ownership of estimating and cost planning activities to include presenting the final cost plan
  • Managing and taking ownership of the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, Bills of Quantities, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively
  • Ensuring that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively
  • Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Value engineering, risk management and life cycle costing where applicable
  • Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
  • Ensuring that QA/QC procedures are adhered to at all times

Qualification

  • BSc Qs / B.Tech QS / or equivalent
  • Professional Body Registration in any of the areas of Project Controls Delivery: Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, Scheduling
  • Must have Consultancy Experience
  • 8 years applicable experience of which 4 years must have been obtained in Mining and Metals
