Position
[Company] has a vacancy for a Lead / Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Consultancy team in [Location]. The position will report to the Geotechnics Team Leader and will be responsible for managing a team of Engineers.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
Technical and development responsibility for one or more of the advanced or highly technical areas within [Company]. Acts as project manager and technical lead on consultancy projects. Provides quality control on engineering reports in accordance with company procedures and quality policies.
Other duties include:
• Develop consultancy proposals and tenders
• Act as project manager monitoring project budgets, schedules and performance against KPIs
• Supervise a team of engineers
• Review and prepare design parameters, engineering methods, calculations and consultancy reports on foundation design studies
• Act as technical focal point for geotechnical consultancy
• Recommend and implement improvements in engineering methods
• Assist Geotechnics Team Leader with general management and Client maintenance; attend Client meetings
• Assist with internal technical training
• Have or develop familiarity with the principles behind finite element and numerical analysis to advance the use of such techniques in geotechnical projects
Position requirements
Qualifications:
Degree in civil engineering or related discipline, preferably to at least master’s level or equivalent in experience. Professional chartered status desirable.
Experience:
Postgraduate and proven experience of managing multiple engineering projects and detailed
analysis of geotechnical problems.
Skills:
Computer literacy including use of spreadsheets, databases, engineering software, plotting
software and project management software.
