Advise on survey related queries (from office and offshore staff, client)
Operations
• Assist Chief Surveyor with the execution of given work
• Execute given work in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practices
• Assist and if applicable process field data, carry out computations and compile survey reports in given company format
• Actively participate in maintenance and implementation of survey procedures and forms in accordance with Company Management System
• Advise on geodesy and GPS related matters
• Advise on new developments in survey systems and methods
• Focal point for GPS data processing and geodetic computations
Financial
Account for own project and business related expenditure
Personnel
Assist with training and advising Trainee Surveyors
Administration
• Assist with maintenance of field survey administration and field filing system in accordance with work practices
• Ensure time spent on projects is properly accounted for
• Ensure expense accounts are correctly completed and accounted for
• Maintenance of geodetic information databases
Specific Additional Duties
• Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues
• Keep abreast of new developments in Geomatics and Marine Survey related matters
• Advise and report on such issued with suggestions on how they may benefit the company
• Advise on new Geomatics and Marine Survey applications and their importance in the survey market area
Principal Working Relationships
• Work with Chief Surveyor on all issues
• Meet with Operations Manager or Project Manager for selected project debriefs
• Assist Processing / Reporting Co-ordinator with processing and compilation of survey reports
• Work with Commercial Department to provide technical input on tenders
• Work with field staff to ensure projects are completed to client’s specifications
Position requirements
• B.Sc.level/ M.Sc. level/ Diploma in Geodesy or equivalent.
• Conversant with computer operation and a basic knowledge of application software.
• English language.
