Construction Materials Testing Department Manager
Responsibilities:
- Working with a team of geotechnical engineers and construction materials testing project managers, the person selected for this position will be responsible for managing CMT services of the office. Work includes report/proposal preparation and review, mentoring/managing junior and senior CMT and laboratory staff, supervision of PM's, the field services manager and field technicians. Candidates should have experience working on both geotechnical and CMT projects as low barriers are maintained between departments. You will also be responsible for marketing [Company] materials testing services; including taking the lead in marketing one of our target business segments that is best suited to candidate's capabilities and strengths. Only local candidates with knowledge of the Tidewater region of Virginia will be considered.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and CMT services.
- PE license required.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication, and strong project and personnel management skills.
- Experience managing a CMT department and complex projects is a must, along with a solid understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts.
