Environmental Scientist/Senior Project Manager

Responsibilities:

• When hired for this position you will be involved with performing environmental studies and high-level technical review/oversight of environmental site assessments [Phase I/II ESA's], underground storage tank assessments, and remediation system assessments and design projects. Depending on your background you will also be involved with groundwater and soil investigations, hydrogeologic studies, and industrial hygiene services including asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality assessments, and health & safety.
• The person hired for this position will have experience on complex remediation and Phase II ESA projects. Local candidates with established contacts are strongly preferred; you will interact with clients on a daily basis. You will function as a senior project manager from a technical standpoint. You will also be involved with marketing and business development, and the preparation of reports and proposals. You will lead and mentor a team of environmental geologists, engineers and project managers; and will have experience managing sizable teams. We seek a 'hands-on' senior environmental project manager who is comfortable in both field and office environments, and who has experience working concurrently for multiple clients with short project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 8-12 years of environmental engineering, geology or related experience.
• Must have a VA PE [strongly preferred] or PG license, or be capable of obtaining a local license through reciprocity within three months following date of hire.
• BS in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline required; MS a plus.
• Strong management and decision-making skills.
