Process/Specialty Engineer IV (Iron Ore Benefication)

Job Description

  • Under general supervision, acts as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignment.

This requisition requires competency in iron ore beneficiation processes related to grinding, magnetic separation, pelletizing and tailings disposal with the following project responsibilities:

  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Periodically reviews work to assure overall quality of process designs.
  • May supervise others and be responsible for training of junior engineers.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Uses advanced techniques, modifications and extensions of theories, precepts and practices of the particular field, related sciences, and disciplines.
  • Contacts other engineering disciplines within the project or company in addition to process engineers and supervisors, other engineering disciplines, vendors and client representation.

Basic Job Requirements

  • University Bachelor or equivalent degree in Metallurgical, Chemical Process or Mechanical Engineering or Science. A minimum of 5 years of applicable industry experience in iron ore beneficiation, pelletizing and tailings disposal. Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and education through participation in internal and/or external training opportunities. Capable of providing working supervision to others with respect to the application of Process Engineering principles to the work process. Engineer-In-Training or professional certification is a plus in locations where not required by office or home base regulations
