Facility Operator I-IV

Primary Job Function:

  • Perform sample collection, sample testing, opening and closing of railcar and truck lids, cleanup and inspection duties per procedures and as directed.
  • Assist with maintaining fixed and mobile equipment, as directed. Complete all necessary paperwork and computer data entry associated with the production and transloading of
  • coal combustion products and cement.

Responsibilities:

  • Accomplish all work in a safe manner according to company policy and procedure.
  • Obtain coal combustion product samples, perform required testing and record data as required and according to procedure. 
  • Operate and adjust controls of all equipment associated with the beneficiation, sampling, loading and unloading of cement and coal combustion products.  Satisfactorily complete the training requirements set forth by SRMG.
  • Perform daily inspections of mechanical equipment for preventative maintenance.  Perform and assist with minor repairs of equipment.
  • Complete paperwork and perform data entry as directed and required.
  • Operate mobile and fixed equipment to spot, un-load, and load railcars with coal combustion products and cement.  Perform janitorial duties, cleanup, and general labor to maintain a safe and productive work area. Inspect trucks and railcars for contamination before loading. 
  • Follow direction as set forth by Foreman and Supervisors.  Work harmoniously with co-workers. 
  • Communicate clearly and maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude toward all customers, truckers, utility personnel, vendors and co-workers.  Work harmoniously with co-workers..
  • Be available for callout and overtime during unscheduled work hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties incidental to this classification as directed by management.

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and  be able to cross train in other essential programs as designated or developed by company.
  • Welding and Mechanical skills.  Mobile equipment operation experience.
  • Ability to use all electric air and hand tools as required Ability to operate mobile and fixed equipment in a safe manner to use all electric, air and hand tools as required. Ability to operate mobile and fixed equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to operate Weigh devices as a Weigh-Master. Ability to work weekends, nights, callouts, overtime and holidays
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets . 
  • Electrical component with strong troubleshooting skills. 

Essential Requirements

  • Regular attendance and punctuality on the job.
  • Must have flexibility to work various shift schedules.
  • Must be 18 years or older with at least a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to lift up to 94 lbs. Climb 125 be able to lift up to 94 lbs. Climb 125’ caged ladders and stairways up to six times per shift Work at heights with re ladders and stairways up to six times per shift.  Work at heights with required red safety equipment without restrictions Able to wear safety equipment without restrictions.  Able to wear all required safety equipment.
  • Stand or sit at control panels for extended periods of time. Work in inclement weather as required or as assigned.
  • Perform frequent repetitious motions to load and unload trailers. Ability to do bending, kneeling, twisting in confined spaces and awkward positions. Capable of hearing alarms and change in noise levels for safety purposes.
  • Travel required as needed
  • Own a home phone or cell phone in order to be notified of shift or schedule changes.
