Mechanical Technologist

Salary: $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 Yearly for 40 hours per week, Other Benefits, Group Insurance Benefits

Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Eligible for certification by a provincial or territorial association

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Area of Specialization: Machinery and components, Moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures

Work Setting: Manufacturing company

Specific Skills: Operate computer-assisted design system, Read blueprints, Prepare engineering design, drawings and specifications, Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications, Test machines and equipment, Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction, Participate in machinery installation, repair and maintenance

Additional Skills/Knowledge/Expertise: Estimate costs and materials, Operate computer-assisted design systems (CAD), Technical writing

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Location Information: In shop

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle, Public transportation is available
