Client Profile
Our client is a leading Australian construction and contract mining group who employ over 3000 staff. They currently have orders in excess of AUD$2Billion and increasing. They continue to uphold a strong reputation for performance, teamwork, proficiency and excellent safety records. They are currently looking for experienced construction personnel to join their construction division in Western Australia where you are assured of an excellent career path and generous salary packages. Job Description:
Focus of Role
The specific areas of responsibility of the role
Time Spent
  • Be proactive in relation to safety and ensure a safe working environment across the project by enforcing compliance with the client Safe Work Guidelines and Policies as well as compliance with legislative requirements under the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
  • Plan, organise and direct drill and blast resources in a safe and cost effective manner
  • Plan, organise and direct the Earthworks teams in the excavation, hauling and dumping of blasted materials in a safe and cost effective manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of long and short term programs and monitor performance against them
  • Monitor performance against the overall project program as modified from time to time
  • Ensure that the Quarry Managers’ daily record is kept and submitted daily
  • Carry out daily inspections of the workplace in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Ensure that field dockets are processed in a timely manner
  • Ensure that employee timesheets are recorded accurately and processed in a timely manner
Requirement
  • Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency - (Quarry with more than 25 people), Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency - (Quarry with less than 25 people).
  • Minimum of 10 years in the construction and mining industry
  • People management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and competency
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in remote locations on flyin/flyout rotation schedules
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
Package
  • Basic salary: ranges from E140K pa to E150K pa depending upon experience.
  • Site allowance: 35-40% of Basic salary
  • Superannuation (pension) contribution
  • Total package: E180K – E200K
  • Rosters are generally 15 days onsite followed by 6 days R&R
  • Private Health Insurance
  • Income Protection & Death Benefit Scheme
  • Annual Leave: 4-5 weeks paid at normal salary
