Safety Officer

A multi-disciplined international mining contracting company is seeking the services of an experienced Safety Officer, with more that 5 years experience in an underground mining environment.

Northam

R456k per annum (negotiable)

Reporting to Mine & SHEQ Manager

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Matric Certificate
  • Blasting Certificate
  • National Diploma: Safety Management
  • First Aid Level 1 certificate
  • Training in advanced incident investigations
  • Training in hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Medically fit

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an underground mine as Safety Officer
  • Extensive knowledge of Mine Health & Safety

Job Specification

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety
  • Adherence to Mine Health & Safety Act
  • Training of staff with regards to Health & Safety
  • Risk assessments and audits
  • Reporting of health & safety hazards, incidents and accidents
