Blast Furnace Process Engineer
Job Description
- [Company] has an immediate opening for a Blast Furnace Process Engineer at our Fairfield Works facility located in Fairfield, Al. The Blast Furnace Process Engineer position prepares the employee for supervisory responsibilities at its various operating facilities. Blast Furnace Process Engineers are expected to have familiarity in all aspects of blast furnaces.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Administration of the [Company] safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the Operating facility
- Establishment of standards/models for the operation of [Company] blast furnaces in order to provide a maximum, consistent and safe production of iron
- Perform continuous data and technical analysis of [Company] blast furnaces to recommend process changes to improve the operations
- Initiate process changes to the operation of [Company] blast furnaces
- Coordinate financial analysis with respect to productivity, fuel rates and raw material consumption
- Evaluate new blast furnace technology and recommend implementation of appropriate technology
- Work in conjunction with operating personnel to achieve iron productivity and quality goals
- Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year. Therefore, this position may require extended hours, as well as weekend and/or holiday work.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required, with preference for a degree in Metallurgical, Material Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
