Manager, Production Planning

We also provide titanium mill products such as billet, bar, sheet, plate and pipe. Titanium Metals Corporation sells its products directly in the United States and Europe, as well as through independent agents and distributors worldwide. Position Description
  • Manager, Production Planning

Summary:

  • Directs Production Planning activities for Toronto Facility. Provides overall management direction to Production Planning Groups in Toronto.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supply/Demand Management to include: Liaise with commercial and NASC; actual vs. plan variance resolution; RFQ conflict resolution; plan fulfillment timing analysis; change order analysis
  • Order Acknowledgement Management & Reporting:  Acknowledgement cycle time compliance; lead-time compliance (actual vs. market requirements; exception management); Commercial conflict resolution.
  • Capacity Planning & Reporting: Constraint analysis & planning; liaise with OSC production control.
  • Inventory Management & Reporting:  Production cycle-time analysis; replenishment program planning (liaise with OSC and melt shops; on-time goods-issue capability); inventory aging compliance; unallocated inventory compliance; MRB management & execution; unplanned production yield analysis.
  • Master Data Support:  provide planning feedback to update measures; back up master data maintenance.

This position is accountable for:

  • Meeting NA planning directives for lead times, order bookings & inventory
  • Managing Toronto planners ensuring compliance with NA Planning directives
  • Ensure buffers are staged to meet 100% on-time goods issue and lead time compliance
  • Ensure standard business practices exist and are robust enough to be used as training documents
  • Continually provide feedback to master data to improve planning parameters
  • Service as member of Toronto’s Senior Management Staff & Toronto’s planning representative to [Company]  internal supply chain
  • Provide oversight of top ten key accounts

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of titanium conversion processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Proficiency using MS Office (Project, Excel, Access, Word, Power Point).
  • Strong SAP skills
  • Knowledge of Theory of Constraints (TOC)

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • APICs certification preferred

  • Ability to work in an industrial surrounding.
