Shift Manager Utilities Maintenance
Job Description
- [Company] has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Utilities Maintenance at the Great Lakes Works facility in Ecorse, MI.
- This position will supervise and direct the unionized maintenance forces of the Utilities Department as they support the maintenance, inspection and repair activities at the power houses, the turbo-blowers, pumps, boilers, water treatment facilities, steam and electrical services.
- Lead and ensure safety and environmental activities and compliance of mechanical techs and electrical techs, in support of equipment repairs including welding, pipefitting, rigging, motor and wiring repair.
- Assist and support production units in reaching quality, delay and yield goals/targets.
Requirements
- Associates degree required Bachelors degree preferred. Engineering, business, management or technology preferred.
- Maintenance experience with boilers, waste water, power, and/or turbo blowers.
- 5-8 years of heavy industrial maintenance and maintenance supervisory experience.
- Experience directing and supervising a unionized workforce.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, extended workdays and weekends.
- Strong leadership, planning and communications skills coupled with a sense of urgency.
- Good keyboard and computer skills a plus.
