Underground Mine Engineer

Job description:

Purpose Of Position

Ensures the safe and economically sound development and operations of the underground mine. The role combines an understanding of the effects of these structures on their surrounding environment, technical knowledge and management skills.

Specific Accountabilities/Deliverables

All employees are required to be professional, cooperative and flexible in line with the requirements of the position.

• Lead a team of Engineers/Technicians
• Long and short term mine design planning & scheduling
• Special projects
• Ventilation
• Ground support
• General health and safety requirements
• Reporting underground mine design and planning.
• Underground ore reserve estimation.
• Feasibility studies on major capital works.
• Budgeting and cost control

Working Conditions

• Underground and surface mining environments.

Selection Criteria

• 10-15 years of extensive engineering & project experience
• Narrow vein long hole mining & other narrow vein mining techniques
• Open Pit Mining
• Proven supervisory experience in mining industry
