Wellfield Construction Supervisor

K+S Potash Canada is part of the K+S Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of standard and speciality fertilizers and the world’s leading salt producer. With more than one hundred years of mining experience K+S offers a comprehensive range of goods and services for agriculture and industry and employs more than 14,000 people globally. K+S is in the initial stages of developing a new potash mine near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and is building its workforce to support its development and ongoing operations expected in 2015.

We are seeking a Wellfield Construction Supervisor to work at our site near Moose Jaw, reporting to the Capital Superintendent, who will be responsible for the supervision of all construction activities in the wellfield.

The general tasks and duties will be:

  • Construction activities to include piping incl. stainless steel and others, pipeline installation, tie ins, well site services, building construction, civil construction
  • Works with production, maintenance and capital to support their requirements
  • Provides drawing review, mark ups and general crew supervision
  • Provides the engineering group with feedback on quality of design and way to continuously improve
  • Assist with QA/QC supervisor / coordinates inspections
  • Provides support for wellfield drilling program (minor maintenance and setup assistance)
  • Ensures training and certification of crew members and contractors as required.

We require the following qualifications for this role:

  • 10+ years’ working experience in an industrial setting
  • Journeyman status in a related trade required
  • Construction experience including multiple trade supervision
  • Pipeline experience an asset
  • Civil construction, hoisting and rigging experience
  • Ability to read drawings (P&ID’s, Isometrics, GA’s)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills are essential
  • Very good computer skills (incl. MS Office).
