Job Title: Shipper Receiver / Material Handling / General Labour

Department: Production

Reporting To: Plant Manager

Location: Mississauga

Position Summary:

Multi tasking position dealing with all aspects of shipping, receiving, material handling, general labour, and administration in a fast passed environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving:

Responsible for Loading & unloading trucks.
Arrange trucking & completion of all shipping documents in conjunction with ABS Headquarters in Mississauga including Bill of Lading, Packing slips, Custom papers etc.
Assist in organizing and setup of shipping / receiving department.
Packaging of finished goods.
As required, pick up and deliver parts to and from external suppliers and customers.

Material Handling:

Transport parts to & from machines on the shop floor using tow motor and overhead crane.
Assist in material handling of large product (up to 35 tons) including: lifting, flipping, and transporting of parts to and from machines.
Dumping of chip bins and arrange for chip bin pickups.
Perform daily inspection of tow motor and cranes. Arrange for repair or service and on occasion perform routine maintenance.

General Labour:

Ensure plant floor is clean by collecting and dumping metal chips and garbage form the plant floor and cleaning up any spills.
On an ongoing basis, order cleaning supplies such as brooms and rags.
Occasional winter maintenance such as snow removal.
Assist in machine maintenance duties such as filling up oils and coolant.
Entering time cards/ time sheets into database.
Assist in administration duties as required.
Follow ABS established safety practices and regulation.

Job Specifications / Qualifications:

High school diploma.
Experience operating forklift and cranes is a must, specifically over 10 ton parts.
Experience in shipping/receiving environment.
Good computer skills.
Good interpersonal, communication, planning & organizational skills.
Understanding of Workplace Safety Act and WHMIS
