Environmental Coordinator

On behalf of our Client, MES is inviting applications from experienced candidates for an Environmental Coordinator role with a successful minerals producer.

About the role:
  • Implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Monitoring and reporting on site compliance
  • Facilitating and undertaking environmental monitoring, reporting and investigations in accordance with statutory conditions and company commitments
  • Support of line managers with regard to their environmental responsibilities through the provision of knowledgeable advice and assistance
  • Completion of statutory and internal environmental reports
  • Development of and leadership in site environmental audits and inspections
  • Development and delivery of environment training and awareness programs to site personnel
  • Facilitating investigation of environmental incidents
  • Supporting operating departments in the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs
  • Contributing to site safety through the active observation and reporting of hazards and incidents 
Necessary qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Science) in Environmental Management or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of current legislation/code of practice and statutory requirements
  • Minimum 3-4 years of industry experience
  • High developed communication skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Current valid driver’s license (manual)
