Permanent senior level position at International mining group in the Mining industry.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Prepare weekly and monthly mining forecast with regards to plans and quantities. 
• Build and update database for bench/flitch cutting plans, waste dumping plans and other mining project plans.
• Develop plans to monitor drainage and dewatering at the pit, waste dumps and stockpiles.
• Monitor contract mining to ensure designs and targets are achieved; distribute plans and sections, advice and inspect the execution of specific jobs.
• Assist Senior Mine Planner to prepare LOM schedule and operating cost, pit optimisation and design.
• Directly supervise activities of Mining Engineers and database management staff.
• Daily pit inspection with regards to the general pit operation, including survey, mine planning, geotechnical, drainage and environmental issues.
• Liaise with Geology, Survey and Process plant sections to discuss requests.
• Design pits, dumps, drains and other infrastructure.
• Manage, monitor and control other projects, including outside properties.
• Optimisation of production fleet, cycle time, etc.
• Assist in any other job which in the opinion of the Senior Mine Planner is regarded necessary for the smooth running of the section.

Education And Experience

• A recognised University degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a reputable surface mine, and seriously involved in both mine planning and production operations.
• Computer literate and an appreciable level of proficiency in the use of Surpac,Whittle,XPAC, AutoCAD, Excel and MS Word. Knowledge in other software is added advantage.
• Good supervisory skills.
