Chief Executive Officer

On behalf of our client we are searching for a Chief Executive Officer with proven success in the start up of a mining and processing operation with mineral sands experience highly regarded.

Listed on the ASX, and based in China and Sydney, our client’s business is developing technology for, and the production of, advanced materials and advanced chemicals from mineral sands.

The company is now developing a titanium base in north east China that will include the production of advanced zirconium, titanium metals and chemicals along with a Mineral Sands mining project and Mineral Separation plant in the Murray Basin.

Based in Melbourne with regular business travel to Sydney and China, this role will report to the Managing Director and be responsible for the build and startup of the company’s mining and processing operations to achieve planned performance and profitability within budget cost and time.

This is a challenging role and will require an executive with the capacity to drive all aspects of the planning, product testing, process trialling, provision of infrastructure, plant construction and commissioning, trial mining, full scale mining and processing to HMS concentrate and the separation, chlorination and other chemical and heat processing of HMS concentrate into saleable products in plants in Yingkou, China;

Key Objectives for this position include:

• To complete a Definitive Feasibility Study and necessary expert reports for this study and for a prospectus for a planned capital raising later this year;
• Be responsible for mining and mine operation management;
• Assist in the mine listing in Hong Kong;

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

• Bachelor or above; Majored in a mining related discipline
• 10 years or more experience in administration of a mining company;
• 5 years or more experiences in a multi-national company
• Executives with a mineral sands history will be preferentially considered

A salary package commensurate with the strategic importance of this role and the skills and experience that the candidate can bring to the company will be discussed at interview.
