Materials Handling/Conveyors Systems Experience
12 Month Contract, Immediate Start
Having won a number of key long term projects throughout the UK to develop a number of high profile new projects within the mining industry, this renowned supplier of materials handling solutions has aggressive growth plans to triple their turnover over the next few years. With consistent growth expected over the next few years, now is an exciting time for an experienced electrical engineer to join this rapidly expanding and forward thinking business.
The role will involve:
- Initially working on a facility containing conveyor systems.
- Working on electrical hardware systems for control conveyor routings, start ups, shut downs, bar code reader interfaces, drives, HMIs.
- Liaising with clients through the process and attending meetings.
- Going down on site and conducting site surveys
- Producing functional design specifications (FDS).
- Concept design of schematics - blank paper designs (there will be existing designs in place from old projects so not complete blue sky thinking).
- Overseeing Electrical Draughtsmen.
- Some calculations - cable sizing, power calculations (for distribution of power). Voltage up to 415V (LV).
- Completing panel documentation.
- Involvement with factory acceptance testing (FAT).
The successful applicant must possess the following key skills and experience:
- Able to produce concept electrical design schematics and do engineering calculations (cable sizing, power distribution).
- Experience with materials handling/conveyor systems.
- Backgrounds could include automotive process lines, mining and quarrying, nuclear, airport baggage handling systems, warehouse automation, food process (any system which moves a product from A to B via a conveyor).
- Happy to work on site when required.
