Control Systems Engineer

Our Calgary office deals with a variety of small, medium and mega projects. We service a variety of major oil/gas companies in the Alberta marketplace but also use our local expertise to work on international assignments directed from this office.
The Position
Looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineers to join our Systems and Process Control team in Calgary.
The successful individuals should be able to work in a multi-discipline team setting, have good communication and analytical/problem solving skills, and be able to work in a schedule driven, challenging environment. High production levels are expected.
Principal Responsibilities
- Establish control philosophies along with the process engineer.
- Development of all requirements for the Control System and sub-systems.
- Development of the communications protocols.
- Selection of all components of the control system (DCS, SIS, PLC, SCADA, Machine Protection etc.).
- P&ID development.
- Communication and access control.
- PLC and DCS software development may be required.
- Review of construction drawings, including electrical schematics, loop diagrams, instrument location diagrams and installation details etc.
- All other control systems related to engineering.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in electrical, chemical, or electronics engineering or in an appropriated related engineering discipline.
- Eligibility to register with APEGGA.
- 5 years of experience in industrial systems and process control.
- Control System and Safety System software programming and hardware installation and testing experience.
- Field instrumentation knowledge i.e. pressure sensors, transmitters, temperature sensors/probes and transmitters, control valves.
- Experience with EPCM type projects is an asset.
- Experience with programming languages such as C++ and VB and engineering tools such as Intools, Plant Space P&ID, 3D modeling, and Relational Database is also considered an asset.
