Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Senior Advisor: Safety to join their Occupational Health and Safety team at Agnew Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Superintendent: Health and Safety, you will be responsible for ensuring delivery of operational and commercial targets often Company in safe, productive and efficient manner by contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive functional occupational health and safety service to site.
This role is offered on an 8 days on/6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth however there is the option to be residential in Leinster if preferred.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to optimal business performance through the review, development, implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety management plan and conducting regular inspections to ensure consistent compliance of these within the operation;
- Ensure employees, business partners, contractors and visitors are aware of their obligations within the OHS Management Standard through the coordination of site inductions, including their delivery as required;
- Assist in building the departmental business plan, participating and developing department goals, targets and objectives, to ensure alignment with the business unit, GFA and GFL strategic plans;
- Identify, analyse and manage OHS risks through overseeing risk register reviews ensuring their completion in a timely manner;
- Ensure organisational maturation and continuous improvement through the development, review and subsequent implementation of procedures inclusive of training personnel to ensure full understanding and compliance.
- Assist in the effective control of departmental expenses by optimising the use of allocated funds in areas such as training & development, sourcing, issuing, servicing repair of equipment including departmental vehicles.
- Build the confidence of internal stakeholders in the capability of the department by developing and maintaining effective relationships with key personnel to ensure service delivery alignment with strategic & operational objectives.
Key factors to your success include;
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Safety & Health
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications
- 3 years in an OH&S function, including working knowledge of either OHSAS18001 or AS4801 Safety Management Systems Experience
