Business Applications Specialist - SAP

Role Overview
Gold Fields are currently seeking a Specialist: Business Applications - SAP to join their Information Technology team based in West Perth.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing SAP technical and functional support and expertise to the Super User Group and Finance teams across Gold Fields Australia, specifically in the areas of Financial/Controlling and Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Provide technical and functional SAP support to the Finance Teams and BAS/Super User Group across the GFA operations in order to optimise usage of the business application within the FICO and GRC modules;
• Monitor and assess SAP support calls and liaise with third party support organisation for call escalation and/or additional technical expertise;
•  Maintain functional, technical and training documentation for relevant modules, ensuring the content is current and any updates are promptly communicated to the relevant user groups
• Maintain overall responsibility for standardisation of business and system processes; and,
• Demonstrate continuous improvement by initiating the investigation, business analysis and business case evaluation of new technology, methodologies and processes to ensure ongoing operational and applications improvement.

 Key factors to your success include:

• Significant SAP experience, minimum of 8 years
• Financial experience with exposure to SOX processes and systems
• An accounting degree and/or CA qualification is desirable
• Possess well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and organisational abilities
• Be analytical with a strong attention to detail
• Exposure to project management in the area of business/systems improvement
