Role Details
Gold Fields Australia are currently seeking a Surveyor: Mining to join the Underground Mining Team at Agnew Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Unit Manager: Technical Services, you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of production and development targets of underground and surface mining operations through the provision of a comprehensive survey control service that meets internal survey and environmental health and safety standards.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth however there is also the option to be residential in Leinster if preferred.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Enhancing the capability of the company by consistently achieving mining production and development targets in alignment with legislative requirements by diligently applying knowledge and skills in delivering a comprehensive survey control service;
  • Improving the delivery of service and overall effectiveness of the mining team by providing support and assistance in related areas as directed;
  • Developing the capability of graduates and cadets within the team, and assisting in their professional development by actively coaching and monitoring their surveying activities;
  • Contributing to the company and statutory compliance obligations by assisting in the generation of quality reports through the input of physicals on a regular basis as directed to ensure compliance with mine survey accuracy as required by mining regulations;
  • Assisting in the goal of ensuring minimal disruption to mining with the timely preparation and distribution of mining related instructions to appropriate mining personnel and business partners;
  • Ensuring that production and development targets are achieved through accurate survey work by applying due diligence and ensuring the care, calibration and maintenance of survey equipment; and,
  • Demonstrating a balanced and considered approach to the provision of survey services by building productive and constructive interpersonal relationships both internally and externally that will facilitate the accomplishment of production and development targets.
Key factors to your success include:
  • Degree or Diploma of Mine Surveying or equivalent
  • Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate Grades 1 or 2 would be highly regarded
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications
  • Prior mine surveying experience in an underground and open pit environment
  • Prior experience in mine surveying applications
