Civil Project Manager / Project Engineer - Bulk Earthworks

A position exists for a Project Manager to work for a large civil contractor based in the Hunter Valley - Immediate start.
Reporting to the Project Director you will be responsible for providing leadership, fostering a cohesive team culture and the controlling of resources to deliver on site requirements while meeting Company objectives. The successful incumbent must have a high safety focus with the key to this position being the ability to build productive and strong relationships with both your team and clients alike.
 
This position is based in the Hunter Valley, working a roster of five (5) days on/two (2) days off (Monday to Friday). 
 
Key responsibilities  
  • Nurture a safe work environment  
  • Represent the company on site and in the community  
  • Well developed people and communication skills - demonstrated ability to liaise with both staff and clients to successfully achieved mutually beneficial outcomes  
  • Develop, maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers  
  • Manage and control Branch expenditure  
  • Ability to work to and achieve set Contract KPI's  
  • Strong Planning, organisational and problem solving skills.
  
Personal attributes:
 
The successful incumbent should be a fair and firm person, with excellent people skills.  You should have a strong understanding of relevant Mining Act and Regulations, work cover obligations, high industry safety standards, and OHS principles with safety as a priority.
 
Qualifications and experience:
 
To be considered for this position you will need to be a civil engineer with 5-10 years industry experience in a senior role (manager) managing a team civil team in a contracting environment. A strong background in planning, organisational and problem solving skills will be required for this role.
