Mining Manager

Job Specification:

• Hard rock open pit and underground mine commissioning and operating experience
• Management of mining operations in compliance with Company Standards and the Botswana Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Regulations
• Managing mining operations in a manner that minimizes costs and maximizes safe productivity to meet processing plant requirements
• Selection and management of mining contractors, relevant consultants and Mining Alliance Agreements
• Management and control of mine designs, plans, schedules and ore reserves
• Preparation, management and control of mining capital and operating budgets
• Managing risks and ensuring statutory compliance on health, safety, environment and community relations
• Establishing and maintaining grade control, reconciliation and production reporting systems and procedures
• Taking a leading role in establishing and continually improving the safe and healthy working conditions and culture of the operation
• Promote continuous development of employees through training and performance management
• A key player in the general business development and improvement strategies for the company

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a certified Mining Engineer
• Minimum of 15 years post graduate experience in hard rock open pit drill and blast mines of which at least 7 years has been in senior management roles managing mining operations
