Mechanical Engineer

• Development, implementation and successful management of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Maintaining mine equipment to high levels of availability and reliability whilst controlling costs and spare parts inventories
• Maintaining effective short and long - term maintenance planning and scheduling
• Liaising with warehouse and suppliers (if appropriate) regarding parts and consumables requirements and plans
• Continually reviewing and improving maintenance methods and plans
• Effectively coordinating maintenance personnel
• Monitoring actual performance against targets and taking corrective action to maintain and exceed targets
• Keeping up to date with new developments in techniques and data processing for maintenance of equipment
• Reviewing and implementing new techniques and procedures that will streamline maintenance processes
• Development, justification and implementation of approved performance improvement initiatives for more effective and efficient maintenance
• Eligible for statutory appointment in accordance with the Mines, Works and Quarries Act of Botswana
• Reporting to the Processing Manager

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in management of maintenance on a fixed plant operation in a mining environment, preferably gold industry
• Strong background in the maintenance of metalliferous mining and processing equipment
