Civil 3D CAD Designer

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Experience with Civil 3D
• Experience with AutoCADD 2009 or newer, Land Development Desktop or Eaglepoint a must.​
• Must be detail oriented
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Education and Experience Required:

• Associates or BS in Drafting
• 5-10+ years Civil Design experience including experience in a range of civil design projects.

General Summary of the Position:

• Conducts and participates in various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team.
• Assists in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications and coordinates with senior project designers on planning and scheduling requirements.
• Utilizes AutoCADD standards.
• May become involved with client communication and interaction with regulatory agencies.
• Prepares site layout plans of limited complexity (including proposed grading) with the direction provided being limited to basic design requirements.​
• Prepares cross-sections and profiles, based on existing and proposed topography.
• Calculates quantities to be used in construction estimates.
• Determines earthwork volumes (cuts and fills) based on existing and proposed topography.
• Identifies appropriate construction control systems on plans (i.e., baselines, stationing, control points, etc.) and prepares the same.
• Provides value-oriented design suggestions.
• Reviews drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
• Uses computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
• Maintains neat and organized work area and computer files which allow efficient access to project information required by other team members.
