Environmental Compliance Engineer (Chicago)

  • [Company] is seeking qualified candidates to be part of expanding our markets and service offering for our Chicago office.  The qualified candidates should have demonstrated client development and management experience plus leadership and technical skills to assist in expanding the delivery services of services to the manufacturing and utilities markets. The qualified individual will have the technical, project management and business development and leadership skills necessary to manage multiple activities, technical professionals and targeted client base.
  • 10-15+ years’ experience
  • BS/MS in Civil/ Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related engineering experience
  • PE required
  • Experience working in manufacturing, and public utility markets and knowledge of regulatory program requirements.  Knowledge of environmental controls and equipment a plus.
  • Experience completing routine environmental compliance submittals (Tier II, Form R, RCRA Biennial Report) and plans (RCRA contingency, SWPPP, SPCCC)
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and/or performing due diligence, regulatory compliance and environmental management system audits.
  • Demonstrated site experience with characterization of soils and groundwater at RCRA, CERCLA, and Brownfield sites, as well as developing remediation strategies a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, budgeting and cost control
  • Demonstrated experience supervising technical and administrative staff
  • Strong leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated business development and client management experience required
  • Strong and effective communication skills including experience as client advocate in negotiations with state agencies
