Senior O & M Specialist

Job Description

• This position is responsible for the development, implementation and/or maintenance of an accurate, complete, and executable MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operate) sparing program to improve the availability of production equipment in a timely and cost effective manner under the direction of the Senior MRO Engineer/Specialist. The program includes tracking and formal reporting responsibilities at regular intervals.
• Works with project and client teams in identifying, developing, and implementing Best Practice work processes in purchasing/buying, inventory control, and stores management.
• Gathers and completes spare parts data.
• Develop Bill of Material (BOM) documents
• Develop Spare Parts Interchangeability Reports (SPIR)
• Provide information on current inventory
• Maintains close client relationships in the client’s supply chain/materials management group.
• Verify and/or identify installed components.
• Review all maintenance procedures for component usage.
• Liaises with Suppliers to verify equipment and component tag numbers and original manufacturer’s model numbers for all tagged components.
• Liaise with engineering group to verify equipment numbering.
• Liaises (as the Spares Coordinator) with Reliability teams to clarify recommended quantities for purchasing operating spares and setting inventory MIN/MAX levels
• Liaises with client procurement group to resolve any queries relating to SPIR content
• Maintains a safe work environment
• Responsible for managing the work to the terms of the contract
• Other duties assigned by Project manager

Basic Job Requirements

• BS Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. (0-5 years’ experience)

OR

• Technical certificate with two to five years of established background in procurement, preferably with MRO exposure.
• Computer literacy in spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (Word) required.
• Excellent problem solving skills required.
• Polished communication and administrative skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean or Six Sigma certifications
• Exposure to CMMS systems
• Familiarity with e-sourcing tools
