Job Summary:

  • This position will be responsible to support activities in materials processing, cell design and performance evaluation. This is a hands-on position expected to conceive and perform experiments to understand the interactions between components that govern battery or fuel cell performance. Develop electrode preparation, process and evaluate their performance in half or full cell. Support development and investigate methods to improve electrode materials, catalysts and coatings for use in batteries and make recommendations based on in-depth internal and external analysis of system at hand.

Ongoing responsibilities:

  • Basic functions include initiating and evaluating ideas and propose changes that will improve products and technologies; conceive and develop materials and coating processes for use in batteries; develop diagnostic test methods for these applications utilizing internal and external analytical and testing capabilities; maintain current awareness of new technology and developments relevant to areas of specialty through literature, internet and technical meetings; train and lead technicians to perform experiments.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry
  • Knowledge and research experience related to material processing and characterization techniques using state of the art analytical methods
  • Creative and innovative with demonstrated ability to support the development of novel materials as well as adapt existing materials
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
  • Self-motivated and hands-on
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office applications ( Excel, Word, Outlook )
