Air Quality - Scientist III

Job Description           

  • [Company] is seeking a Staff Air Quality Specialist for a position in our Houston, TX office. In this role, you would prepare various technical analyses associated with emissions from industrial sources, including calculating emissions, reviewing control technologies, data analyses, preparing permit applications and compliance with regulatory air quality requirements. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities also include leading and conducting compliance and permitting projects, dispersion modeling in support of air quality permit applications, and supporting NEPA analyses.  Additionally, you'll conduct regulatory analyses for large and small projects and grow in responsibility based on skills, experience, and performance.
  • Key duties would be to develop and maintain knowledge of technical and regulatory air quality issues, and to grow or develop his or her own specialty in the long run.

Requirements:

  • Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (engineering, science, and/or math) with 5 to 10 years of related experience. Experience with air quality dispersion models used for regulatory applications is preferred.  Must have standard computer skills, including the use of spreadsheets and word processing software; and strong written and verbal communication skills are highly desirable. Permitting experience in the power industry is a plus.
