Job Description/responsibilities:
Senior Geophysicist, Business Development
Responsibilities
• Evaluate prospects/fields with available seismic data in a short time-frame
• QA/QC of sellers interpretations if no data is available or accessible
• Generate maps on key horizons and map structural and stratigraphic components
• Work with geologist and engineer to generate resources in place for field or prospect
• Assist in developing field base case development plan or prospect drilling proposal
• Evaluate risk parameters for prospect or field appraisal development
• Support, recommend and participate in planning proposed work
• Present work to team and management as required
• Reliable interpretations or QA/QC of seismic data within allocated time-frame
• Contribute required input for resource estimations
• Contribute to base-case development plans as required
• Develop and mentor young Thai personnel as required
• Ensure use of appropriate seismic technology for each project
Qualification/Trade:
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geophysics or Geology
• At least 15 years experience in petroleum geophysics/geology including interpretation of both structural and stratigraphic play concepts with a variety of reservoir types
• Ability to use geophysical workstation software required (Landmark, Kingdom, Petrosys)
• Good knowledge of global petroleum systems and interpretation in multiple basins worldwide
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Strong teamwork skills essential
• Knowledge of interpretation uncertainties, risk analysis, geology and reservoir engineering fundamentals
• Previous experience in a Business Development Team would be a significant advantage
