EHS Officer / Inspector
Key Responsibilities
• DOSH Registered
• Champion the Hess EHS Rules
• Preparation Incident/accident material as lesson learnt and share with project during as required e.g. at weekly internal meeting
• Coordinate, monitor and execute continuous audits and inspections in line with schedule
• Register in the action registers all nonācompliances and record arising from walkthroughs, daily inspection, audit, etc.
• Follows up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensures that any certification requirements are complied with
• Assist with the implementation of Job Safety Analysis and inspect job site activities during particularly difficult or hazardous work situations;
• Assist local management in the preparation and presentation of field EHS meetings.
• Participate in the investigation of accidents and near misses
• Review and analyze accidents and near miss incidents and making corrective action recommendations
• Assist to ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency and maintains records of such drills providing recommendations for emergency response improvements
• Supervises the regular inspection of fire fighting, safety and emergency response equipment
• Assist in developing and implementing field location emergency response procedures and evacuation plans
• Ensure that operations employees, contractors and site visitors receive HSE inductions for theatre operations
• Preparing written weekly and monthly HSE reports, statistics and presentations related to EHS performance
• Visiting various business and industrial premises to inspect processes and procedures and ensure good health and safety practice carrying out examinations of machinery, working environments and structures, taking measurements of noise, heat and vibrations, and taking photographs and samples where necessary
• Ensuring workers are provided with suitable protective equipment, such as eye goggles, ear protectors or appropriate types of gloves and clothing and investigating procedures for working in hazardous environments or with potentially harmful substances
• Keeping up to date with new legislation and health and safety standards
• Providing specialist advice and information on health and safety to businesses and organizations and advising on changes required, as well as other relevant issues
• Negotiating with managers and operators to try to eliminate possible conflicts between safety considerations and production/profit
• Writing reports on results of inspections and investigations and completing detailed paperwork
• Determining when action (i.e. notices and/or prosecution) may be necessary and gathering and presenting the appropriate evidence
• Providing training and educational support to employers and new/trainee employees if required i.e. Lifting and Rigging Training, Basic Scaffolding Training
• Willing and able to work in Singapore
Qualification/Trade:
Qualifications and Experience
• A minimum of 10 years EHS experience in E&P project execution
• Familiarity with Malaysian State Regulations and PMU Requirements
• Diploma/Certificate in relevant discipline would be an advantage
• Good computer literacy, spoken and written English
• Physically fit enough to pass valid offshore survival course
