Lead Layout Designer

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Design and develop Overall Site, Plant layouts and
• general arrangement drawings
• Preparing tender documents and proposal estimates. 
• Develop 3D model. 
• Undertake 2D extraction from the 3D model. 
• Coordinate Layout work with the work of other engineering disciplines. 
• Check drawings prepared by others for quality and accuracy. 
• Review vendor drawings.  
• Provide technical guidance to co-workers. 
• Supervise the work of Layout designers. 
• Determine the training and development needs of Layout designers.

Education and Experience:

• Technical college graduation or equivalent or a minimum of 12 years relevant experience in pertinent Mining and Heavy industrial, Mechanical and Material handling equipments 
• Solid knowledge of computer applications for engineering design.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Thorough knowledge of 2D, 3D Microstation, AutoCAD and PDS. Or equivalent 2D & 3D engineering design and drafting procedures and programs
• Proficiency in Intergraph SmartPlant would be an asset.
• Knowledgeable in the design and drafting practices of Mining, Heavy industrial, Mechanical, Material handling equipments, Metallurgical plant and Modular plant for Wet and dry processes 
• Solid knowledge of applicable standards, codes and requirements
