This role will be heading up a Greenfield $20 million dollar open cut coal overburden project with a target of 900,000 – 1,100,000 BCM per month. They are experiencing significant growth and are also targeting strategic opportunities throughout the Australian mining industry. This position presents a great career opportunity for a motivated mine engineering professional to develop and grow within a tier one mining contractor 

The role:

• Management of project budget and project deliverables 
• Provide leadership and safe direction to your highly experienced engineering team, 
• Expert administration of the contract for clients 
• Provide plant and equipment justifications, 
• Review all mining plans, 
• Assist project teams with tenders
• Provide accurate review cost forecasts 
• Coordinate internal/external staff and contractors
• Priorities project resources to maintain project efficiencies 
• Promote a safe working environment
• Manage all project activities both on and off site

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mine Engineering or equivalent degree qualifications
• Minimum 10 years experience in open cut mining operations in either coal or metalliferous 
• Experience working with large Mining/Civil contractor on overburden projects
• Experience providing plant and equipment recommendations 
• Ability to lead and influence a high performing safety culture
• Excellent people management, communication and negotiation skills
• Strong contractual knowledge and application
• Mine planning background with strong CAD, mine design software skills
