Project Engineer — Civil / Environmental — Dredging Works

  • Immediate opportunity - Initial 6 month contract
Based in the South of Melbourne, this Tier 1 Construction firm is seeking to employ an additional Civil Project Engineer. Employed on a 6 month contract, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of a dredging program for a large maritime project.
 
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
  • Design, develop and deliver a program to successfully deliver dredging works
  • Complete investigations, costings and design proposals and produce reports on cost effective options
  • Manage all testing and investigations
  • Produce reports including Environmental Management Plans and Project Management Plans
  • Liaise with local authorities in order to gain approval for dredging works
  • Liaise with local residents with regards to the program
As the ideal candidate you will have
  • A tertiary qualification in civil or environmental engineering
  • Circa 5 + years' experience working in a Project Engineering capacity
  • Prior experience developing and managing dredging programs within water bodies
  • A technical understanding of soil classifications 
  • Extensive experience in producing Environmental Management and Project Management reports
  • Prior experience liaising with project stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
This is an immediately available opportunity. While initially a 6 month contract, there is definite opportunity for extension.
 
The hourly rate on offer is negotiable and largely dependent of the specific experience of the successful applicant.
